Here is our Shand Mason Two Cylinder Double Vertical 200GPM Fire Engine, newly refurbished to it's former glory. 

The tender was received for the Steam Fire Engine on 11th December 1912, and was purchased for £345

A spark arrester was also purchased for £3-3-0, and an alarm bell for £4-0-0.

The Shand Mason was replaced with a motor fire engine in 1938.

Tenbury's hand-drawn hose-cart fitted with solid rubber tyred wheels, carried eight lengths of canvas hose, standpipes, keys and two branches and a dividing breeching, it carried two oil-lamps, fixed to the front.  With this hose-cart a fire could be quickly tackled using water under pressure from the water mains.

A decommissioned fire appliance (D911 BUY), that served most of it's time based at Station 53 Tenbury Wells, has been given to the people of Sri Lanka to replace one lost in the Tsunami that devastated the eastern coast of the island on Boxing Day 2004.

CFO Paul Hayden handed over the keys to two Sri Lankan cricketers - Mitttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas, who were playing cricket at Worcestershire Cricket Club on April 28th 2005.  They formally accepted the appliance on behalf of the Sri Lankan government.

The appliance was at Tenbury from new, when the current fire station was built in 1987

This appliance served at Tenbury since D911 BUY above, left the station.  At the time when this appliance served at Tenbury as callsign 532, we had J668 BUY serving alongside.  The appliance left Tenbury at the end of May 2006, to be replaced with a newer Dennis Sabre.

It went into service at Stn 23 Bewdley - Callsign 231.

J668 BUY served at Tenbury up until January 2007, when it was replaced with a Dennis Rapier.  It served as the frontline pump, alongside M284 KWP (pictured above).

Here you can see a Dennis Rapier, L293 UWP, that served at Tenbury as the frontline pump alongside Sabre VX53 JEU. It took over service from Dennis SS J668 BUY.

The rapiers were very fast machines that handled extremely well, but were fairly dated by the time this one entered into service at Tenbury.  This appliance was one of the last Rapiers in Hereford and Worcester to be replaced, ours to be replaced in the very near future.
